- What a wonderful service the Three Villages Historical Society is doing in preserving the history of this area of Long Island, and kudos to the book dealer who went to the trouble to make this limited-edition publication available. My 93-year-old mother, who grew up in the area and who now has near-term memory problems due to dementia, has had many happy hours with the books I was able to get through .
- I have lived in or adjacent to these communities since 1933 and remember most of them the way the magnificent archival photos show them. Of particular note is the use of current street addresses to identify those buildings and locations that still exist. I pass many of them in my daily travels every day. This book is a "must buy" for anyone interested in adding another facet of Long Island's unique history to his or her collection and preserving it. This book is a gem.
- Great collection of photos (and well documented) - a look back at one of the special places in America. One of the great things about Setauket is that most of the locations in the old photos are still recognizable today. Kudos to the TVHS for putting together a winner in this national series of hometown histories.
